Careers
Graduates from the Nursing MSc program offered at Georgia State University work in a variety of healthcare areas such as ambulatory and primary care, hospital and specialty settings. After passing national certification exams, nurse practitioners (NPs) deliver care in rural areas, urban community health centers, college campuses, employee health centers and other locations. NPs also work for health care technology companies, such as pharmaceutical manufacturers, perform health care research, teach in schools and universities and serve in governmental agencies, such as health departments, the military, etc.

- Entrance exam: Miller Analogies Test (MAT) preferred, but the Graduate Record Exam (GRE) scores are also accepted. The entrance exam is waived for MS nursing applicants who hold a graduate degree in a non‐nursing field, Post‐master’s certificate applicants OR if you have a GPA of 3.0 or higher from your Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree.
- Official TOEFL scores: for applicants whose native language is not English, include a copy of your TOEFL score in your application packet.
- Certificate of immunization
- Citizenship verification
- RN to MS applicants must take the GRE or MAT exam to apply.
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
- A cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.75 on a 4.00 scale.
- Registration as a professional nurse in Georgia or another U.S. state and evidence of application to the Georgia Board of Nursing.
