What You'll Work On
Advised by industrial advisory board members and other industry contacts to meet industry needs and to develop career pathways, the industry-driven curriculum of the Mechatronics program of Michigan Technological University addresses the need for skilled advanced manufacturing technologies. You'll learn core technical skills, advanced technical design skills, and core technical implementation/instrumentation skills used in design and manufacturing of control systems and devices in consumer products, aerospace and military, automotive, and other advanced manufacturing industries.

Work with faculty and staff on various applied research projects with the goal of enhancing your knowledge in practical applications.
The physical systems currently used in industry are robotically driven and with advanced controls. Mechatronics is an essential foundation for the expected growth in automation and manufacturing in the U.S. and worldwide. Professor Sergeyev's research is in developing advanced industrial robotics platforms and controls.
Where You'll Work
Students and graduates of the program will work in cybersecurity, telecommunications, computer science, automotive engineering, robotics, artificial intelligence, or consumer products and packaging.
