Overview

The Innovation and Entrepreneurship program at University of California, Irvine (UCI) offers a deep dive into all aspects of the entrepreneurship process, including how to identify new venture opportunities, develop ideas through lean startup methodology, prepare a business plan, assemble a team, raise funds, and launch a new business. It is also rich in experiential learning opportunities within the UCI entrepreneurial ecosystem. Now available in either a 9-month or two-year format, the MIE is the only program of its kind in the UC System.

MIE Career Pathways

With four Career Pathways, students can design their own path based on their interests and career aspirations.

Founding a company – starting a business from the ground up
Innovating the business - grow or scale a family business
Marketing & product development - drive growth in a marketing or communications role
Managing projects & teams - lead teams as a project or product manager.
