General requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism or mass communications. Provisional admission may be granted if you are entering the degree program with no previous coursework in mass communications.
- Statement of objectives: The personal statement should briefly describe your interest in the program, previous experience, research or academic interests and long-term career goals. In addition, the statement also can mention one or more K-State faculty with whom you have an interest in working. Most statements are three to four paragraphs in length.

- Names and emails of three professional and/or academic references who will provide letters of recommendation.

- Bachelor’s degree with a 3.0 minimum GPA in the final two years or approximately the last 60 credit hours
