Overview
In this Literacy program at the American College of Education you will learn to develop age-appropriate instructional options for emerging, struggling, and advanced readers.
Key Features
- You’ll take eleven courses (most students take one at a time) that center around literacy. In your coursework, you’ll learn best practices for literacy development for diverse PreK-12 students, including literacy for exceptional learners, intervention strategies for reading difficulties, and strategies to enhance fluency and comprehension. You’ll also take one class in research methods. Each course is five weeks long.
- At the end of the program, you’ll complete a capstone course to demonstrate and document the impact of the knowledge you’ve gained throughout the program.
