Overview
The Master of Business Administration program at Ferris State University consists of 30 credit hours of core coursework and a 9-credit concentration for a total of 39 required credits.
Students are required to choose a 9-credit concentrations. Alternately students who have specific career interests may work with an advisor to select a combination of existing graduate courses and/or propose independent research to customize a concentration in nearly any field of study.
This allows the candidate to specialize in a specific cognate or concentration based on his or her employment interest.
Presently, unless otherwise arranged, all MBA classes are taken online and are taught by FSU College of Business tenured and tenure-track faculty located in Big Rapids, Michigan. The MBA program is an open enrollment program. Meaning it is possible to register during the semester prior to taking courses.

General requirements
- Completed application for admission.
- Request official course transcripts from all undergraduate and graduate colleges and universities previously attended, including confirmation of a bachelor’s from a regionally accredited university with an overall Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale and 3.00 or higher is required in the junior and senior level courses. Ferris graduates need not submit transcripts for coursework completed at Ferris.
- Submit a current, professional resume or curriculum vitae.
- Submit a statement of purpose, approximately one page typed, explaining your reasons for seeking admission into the program.
- Request two (2) professional references attesting to your ability to succeed in graduate-level studies.
- International students whose first (native) language is not English need to have English proficiency test scores.
