The intent of the curricular program, which leads to a Architecture - Heritage Conservation degree offered by The University of Arizona with a concentration in Heritage Conservation, is:
Interdisciplinary, teaching holistic problem-solving within an integrated environment of natural and cultural resources including the disciplines of anthropology, archaeology, architecture, art history, history, landscape architecture, materials science, and planning;Inter-institutional, promoting collaborative engagement between public and private institutions with a curriculum incorporating community service as a method of learning; andInternational in scope and regional in application, defined by the arid lands geography of the Greater Southwest.
School of Architecture
The School of Architecture is devoted to professional education with a sensibility honed in the edge conditions of an extreme climate on a major international border. Located in the oldest continuously-inhabited city in the United States, the School combines a culturally rich past with cutting-edge environmental research in its place-based design approach to the arid environment.

- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale from an accredited undergraduate degree program.
- 3 Letter of Recommendation.
- Personal essay/statement of purpose for graduate study, including potential research interests.
- Portfolio of creative work including academic projects, design and professional work, and other forms of creative expression. Examples of graphic expression are especially relevant.
- Biographical profile/resume including a complete record of academic and professional work
- Applicants will be notified of their application status no later than April 1 and if admitted, will be asked to confirm their attendance by April 15.
- Preferred selection begins in February, but we will continue accepting qualified applicants through April.
