Key Features

This Sports Business MSc program from New York University consists of a sequence of core courses, the choice of a concentration in one of four areas of professional expertise, and two capstone courses.

Highlights

The core curriculum is designed to provide you with a deep and broad foundation that supports concentration coursework and serves you throughout your career. Students are required to take all of the following courses.

Electives are optional courses that allow for individual investigation of specialized topics. They include a Seminar in Sports Law; an Advanced Special Project, which is an individually applied research initiative; Independent Study in Sports; and an additional internship.

Each concentration offers an optional internship course which provides you industry experience an opportunity expand your experience in a sports business or organization.

While core courses provide important foundational knowledge of the industry, concentrations allow you to investigate the area of greatest interest to you. After completing the core courses you may specialize in one of four concentrations: Professional and Collegiate Sports Operations, Sports Marketing and Sales, Global Sports Media, or Sports Law. Each concentration offers students an opportunity to pursue an internship for academic credit, which provides you with industry experience or the opportunity to expand your expertise into another area of the field. After completing the required three courses within a concentration, students will have an opportunity to select two elective courses to fulfill the academic requirements of the concentration including courses focused on sports analytics, eSports, fandom, and partnerships with sports organizations.
