Overview
Recognized as scholars and leaders in occupational therapy education for over 75 years, St. Catherine University provides the Master of Arts in Occupational Therapy (MAOT) program as one of two pathways to an entry level degree in occupational therapy. In addition, our network of occupational therapy alumni and former university leaders includes three AOTA past presidents.

- The graduate OT occupation-based curriculum is interwoven with the University's liberal arts education, and provides you with a foundation in four major populations and practice areas, pediatrics, geriatrics, mental health, and rehabilitation.
Accreditation
The MAOT program is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) of the American Occupational Therapy Association, Inc. (AOTA).

General requirements
- A completed bachelor’s or graduate degree from an institution that is accredited by one of the regional accrediting organizations (e.g. Higher Learning Commission), or an approved dual-degree plan for completing the bachelor's degree during the MAOT program.
- A cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.2 or higher on a 4.0 scale. Applicants with a cumulative GPA of 3.0-3.19 who also have a prerequisite GPA of 3.2 or higher may petition to be considered for the graduate program by completing the optional Petition question in OTCAS. St. Catherine University follows the OTCAS method of calculating GPA.
