Study Music Industry at University of Southern California

The skills required to succeed have become specialized and fragmented, and it is harder to become a leader today without a full grasp of the concepts that connect the “old” and “new” practices and marketplace.

After 20 years offering a successful undergraduate program in Music Industry, Thornton has launched an 18-month graduate degree, the Music Industry MSc program offered at University of Southern California, geared towards musicians and other students with a music background who want to retool their skills for the rapidly-evolving music industry.

Alumni from Thornton’s current Music Industry program include award-winning music supervisors at Universal Music and RCA/Sony Music Licensing, music coordinators, music managers, publicists, and entrepreneurs in all aspects of technology, production design, live music production, special events, and more. Alumni have launched successful companies like Production Club, creating visual effects for artists such as Skrillex, and have been signed to major labels as artists and songwriters.
