Overview
The curriculum of the Business Administration program of Wingate University consists of 36 credits which includes 12 three-credit courses. It is divided into two components: core courses (30 credits) and concentration courses (6 credits). Core courses cover the complete range of business disciplines and serves as the general management foundation for the program. Concentration courses provide added depth and relevance in specific areas of emphasis that connect to student career goals and professional interests.
Areas of Study
The Wingate University MBA curriculum gives you a choice of five areas of concentration:
Data analytics
The Data Analytics concentration will focus on developing the ability toaccess, mine and extract data from information databases, enterprise data warehouses,and other sources; to analyze, interpret, and extract meaning from raw data andleverage applicable specialized data analytics software and other tools with a focus onreal world applications; and to translate, optimize, and present data in order to drive optimal business decisions.Corporate innovation
The Corporate Innovation concentration focuses on entrepreneurship within a corporate setting and managing innovation and technology in order to develop competitive advantage from a corporate perspective.
General management
The General Management concentration provides students with the option of taking courses across different concentrations, providing a general management orientation. Students may choose two courses from any of the concentrations with the exception of BUS 672 (subject to the applicable prerequisites).
Health care management
The purpose of the Health Care Management concentration is to develop health care industry leaders by enhancing health care management expertise through relevant, real-world oriented health care course content, while based in a rigorous general management focused MBA curriculum.
Project management
The Project Management concentration will focus on effective leadership and management of the project and program management process.
Courses are available throughout the year during weekday evenings to meet the needs of adult professionals continuing their education while holding full-time corporate positions in the Charlotte area. Take advantage of the program's on-going flexibility to sequence courses around your schedule so you can complete the program in only two to three years based on your professional goals.

General requirements
- While a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution is required, it’s possible to join our program if you majored in a field other than business. All you need to do is satisfy these required undergraduate prerequisites: Principles of Financial Accounting, Principles of Managerial Accounting, Principles of Microeconomics, Principles of Macroeconomics, Principles of Management, Principles of Marketing, Principles of Finance, Business Statistics, Mathematics (College Algebra or Calculus)
- Bachelor’s degree and GPA. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution is required.
- Our review of your official transcripts from all colleges and universities you’ve attended.
- Official GMAT scores or GRE scores. We offer a free GMAT Prep Course to help candidates prepare. GMAT or GRE waiver may be considered in certain situations.
