Overview
Key facts
3D4M - Ceramics, Glass and Sculpture program from University of Washington is a consortium that includes ceramics, glass, and sculpture. Four full-time faculty and three instructional technicians work directly with up to eight graduate students. Studios are located at the Ceramics and Metal Arts Facility where there are extensive facilities for ceramics, wood and metal fabrication, foundry, glass, digital imaging center, and two student exhibition galleries.
The MFA is a two-year course of study emphasizing an experimental approach to materials and ideas and is centered on individual directions within the broad spectrum of contemporary art making. The program places primary concern on personal development and the sharing of ideas, allowing for a flexible and challenging view open to new concepts. The Ceramics Program has been ranked in the top five by U.S. News and World Report for over a decade and was recognized for overall program excellence with the University of Washington Brotman Award in 2005.
