The Education program of the Moravian College requires no admission exams or entrance essays, only a sincere interest in improving teaching practice.

Courses are available to all certified teachers and may be taken as part of the larger M.Ed. program, to satisfy Act 48 requirements, or simply for intellectual and professional enrichment. The course descriptions provided here are based upon reasonable projections of faculty and facility availability. Course offerings are subject to change based on changes in circumstances upon which these projections were based and as deemed necessary by the College to fulfill its role and mission. Moravian also offers certifications for ESL, Reading Specialist, Principal, and Supervisory.

General requirements

  • Completion of the baccalaureate degree at a duly accredited institution is required.
  • State certification is required in elementary, art, music, early childhood, middle level or secondary education.
  • Official transcripts from all educational institutions you attended must be sent to Graduate Studies and Continuing Education upon completion of the application.
  • Active engagement in classroom teaching is required during program completion.
  • Two letters of recommendation and completion of Master of Education in curriculum and instruction or equivalent are required for entry into the principal and supervisory certification programs.
  • Six graduate-level credits may be transferred if consistent with our program objectives.
