Overview
This two-year Speech Language Pathology with Teacher Certification program at the State University of New York Plattsburgh prepares you for licensure as a clinical speech-language pathologist or teacher of children with speech or language disabilities. The program is accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), and meets the academic and graduate clinical clock-hour requirements for ASHA CCC, and teacher certification and licensure in New York State (and most other states), and membership in the various provincial corporations in Canada.
You’ll gain clinical experience in a variety of settings and work with faculty who are experts in their area of study and you will be prepared to work in any professional setting.
Applicants with a bachelor’s degree in a different field may prepare for application to a speech-language pathology graduate program by completing with the communication sciences and disorders certificate program.
