The need for expert cybersecurity professionals has never been greater: Cyberattacks are increasing worldwide, and organizations of all types and sizes are vulnerable.

Our MS Cybersecurity curriculum has been designed by faculty who offer diverse academic, research and industry expertise in the full range of career pathways. Seven UCM faculty have earned one or more SANS GIAC certifications.

With a Cybersecurity MS from UCM, you’ll master the science behind solving problems in the field using advanced technology and techniques. You’ll design and analyze security policies and systems to meet information security requirements and learn to evaluate and maintain cyber systems to ensure secure, reliable organizational operations.

Career

The Cybersecurity and Information Assurance master’s degree program at the University of Central Missouri can prepare you for senior cybersecurity and information assurance jobs. Our Cybersecurity MS graduates have established careers with industry leaders such as Cerner, Federal Reserve Bank, SAIC, Commerce Bank, H&R Block, Garmin and others.

General requirements

a student must have an undergraduate degree in computer science or a related discipline. Applicants who have degrees in some non-computing fields will also be considered for admission provided they have completed at least one programming course with a grade of B or better.

a student must have a minimum undergraduate grade point average (GPA) of 2.80.

applicants must complete the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) with a minimum combined score of 291 in Verbal and Quantitative reasoning. Applicants must submit official GRE test scores by Educational Testing Services (ETS) directly to the University of Central Missouri. The ETS institution code for sending GRE scores to UCM is 6090, program code is 0402. Applicants with exceptional undergraduate performance may be considered with a lower GRE score.
