The Public Health degree program at Adelphi University provides society with knowledgeable and professionally educated people to enhance the public health infrastructure and the health of populations.

The program provides students with a wide range of skills and tools necessary to work in the public health arena. The integrated, evidence-based core and foundational courses, along with a concentration, enable all students to achieve mastery of both discipline-specific and crosscutting competencies.
The MPH curriculum was derived from the model curriculum of the Association of Schools of Public Health (ASPH). Courses are designed in accordance with the ASPH core competencies and discipline-specific competencies.
Acquire an understanding of the public health paradigm for health promotion and disease prevention and will be able to conceptualize, implement and evaluate population health interventions.

Acquire the essential competencies of public health’s core content areas, and apply those competencies to complex public health issues.

Demonstrate knowledge and application of basic principles and methods of population health research to advance scientific knowledge of the health of human populations.

Articulate and advocate the values and ethics that distinguish public health as a cohesive field of practice and inquiry.
