Overview

This graduate program is administered by the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, students may attend classes on either the Abilene or Lubbock campus. The training emphasizes the knowledge and skills of core public health fields and the integration and application of those fields to public health practice. The MPH will provide students with the knowledge, skills, and values needed to succeed in careers that bridge medicine and public health.The 42 credit hour MPH program is designed to be completed in two years, depending upon a student's course selection; with a maximum of 15 credits per semester and lasting no more than 5 years. In addition, the MPH program includes a practicum and culminating experience as part of the school's practice based learning.

Three scores are reported: a Verbal Reasoning score on a 130 - 170 score scale in one-point increments, a Quantitative Reasoning score on a 130 - 170 score scale in one-point increments, and an Analytical Writing score on a 0 - 6 score scale in half-point increments.
GMAT admission requirements GMAT The Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) is a test intended to assess certain analytical, writing, quantitative, verbal, and reading skills in written English for use in admission to a graduate management program, such as an MBA. GMAT contains 4 sections - Analytical Writing Assessment, Integrated Reasoning, Quantitative and Verbal. The score has a range from 200 - 800.

General requirements

1. A bachelor's degree or the equivalent from an accredited college or university.2. The applicant must provide transcripts from all institutions attended.3. Official GRE scores.4. Two (2) letters of recommendation, which must be from former faculty or administrators who are familiar with the scholastic abilities of the applicant. In the case of an applicant who is coming to us from a practice setting, one of the letters may be from an employer.5. An essay or statement of purpose for study, approximately two pages, single spaced in length. The essay should describe past experience as it relates to the applicant's interest in public health, career goals, purpose for applying to the program, and how the program will serve future goals.6. A personal interview may be requested.
