Key facts

This Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction program at Sam Houston State University is designed for students who already have a teacher certification. In addition, the program prepares students to teach dual credit courses and/or courses at the community college. In collaboration with an adviser in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction the student will develop an individual plan consistent with the student’s interest and needs.

Learning outcomes

Students who are seeking initial Teacher Certification as part of a master's program should pursue The Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction with Certification program.

The Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction program is completed online, except for occasional research meetings and some concentration area coursework if certain concentration areas are selected.

In addition, the program prepares educators to teach dual credit courses and/or courses at the community college level. In collaboration with an advisor in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction, the student will develop an individual plan consistent with the student's interest and needs.

Students who are seeking initial Teacher Certification as part of a master's program should pursue the Master of Arts in Teaching.

The Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction program is completed online, except for occasional research meetings (in the face-to-face sections) and some minor coursework if certain minors are selected.
