Learning outcomes

The MS in Biology at Sam Houston State University allows for a specialization in one of several areas of biology and is designed for students planning to pursue careers in research, at the collegiate level, or in environmental biology with governmental agencies and industry. General requirements

Complete the Admissions application on ApplyTexas or CommonApp and pay the $90 application fee.
Students from countries that recognize English as an official language may be exempt from the English Proficiency requirement. SHSU will verify the language of instruction through official transcripts.
Submit your official academic transcript(s) in a sealed envelope by mail or in person, or have them sent electronically from your school. Transcripts must be official and issued directly by the institution or approved evaluation service.
If any transcript or document is issued in a language other than English, you must also submit a certified English translation.
After you are admitted and have submitted all required documents, SHSU will issue an I-20 form. You will use this form to apply for an F-1 student visa in your home country. Bring your I-20, passport, and financial documentation to your visa appointment.
