Overview
The Environmental and Ocean Sciences program at University of San Diego combines intensive coursework and independent research with personalized faculty mentoring, providing students with experience and skills for success in their careers or doctoral programs. Students design experiments or observations that test hypotheses, contribute new information to a knowledge base and learn to write in a way that facilitates scientific exchange, ultimately culminating in a written thesis.
Faculty and Partner Organizations
Faculty currently research marine geochemistry, climatology, paleoclimatology, hydrology, geomorphology, oceanography, marine biology, locomotion and fluid dynamics, physiology, ecology and population genetics. Affiliated marine science faculty work in the areas of bioacoustics, fisheries, aquaculture, molecular genetics, hydrogeology, ecology and physiology.
