Overview
The three-year Visual Arts program of Boise State University fosters students’ creative, intellectual, and professional development as artists who create excellent work, are able to discuss and contextualize their work cogently, and who are prepared to enter various career paths.
Key facts
Course work emphasizes studio practices along with art history courses and seminars with a focus on contemporary topics. An active Visiting Artist and Scholars Program brings world-renowned artists and scholars to campus who offer lectures, workshops, and graduate studio critiques. The program culminates in an exhibition of a body of work, a written analysis that supports the work, and an oral defense of both.
