The Master of Arts in Reading Education degree program from Appalachian State University has two concentrations:

  • Adult Literacy – Prepares instructors and administrators to deliver and coordinate literacy services for adults seeking to improve their reading and writing skills.
  • Classroom/Clinical – Intended for classroom teachers and reading specialists. Students with this concentration are prepared to teach all aspects of reading and language arts to K-12 students. Graduates are eligible for Master (M) level teaching licensure.
