- Earth Science certification: Earth Science or Geology Major OR coursework in earth history; paleontology; mineralogy; structural geology; hydrology; and glacial geology. Coursework may also include geology; meteorology; or astronomy
- Physics certification: Physics major OR coursework in mechanics; electricity; thermodynamics; modern physics such as relativity, kinetic theory, and quantum theory. Coursework may also include optics; circuits; or particle physics.
