Overview
This Mathematics Education (Grades 6-12) MEd degree at the University of Georgia prepares you for leadership in mathematics teaching for grades 6-12. If you are interested in teaching PreK-8, see our Griffin program.
For teachers who already have a Master's degree, regardless of institution, the MEd program can be tailored into an EdS program that incorporates previous Master's work.

Curriculum
You will build skills and knowledge in mathematics, pedagogy and curriculum, and leadership. Our program fits the scheduling needs of full-time teachers and prepares them for leadership roles in schools and districts by including course work and practical experiences in coaching, curriculum design, and analysis of policy.
Programme Structure
Your program of study will consist of 36 hours:
- 9 hours of pedagogy and curriculum
- 15 hours of mathematics, statistics, or mathematics education content
- 12 hours of research and leadership
