Description
The Jeanette and Frank Schmalzreid Endowed Scholarship was established in 2011 by Margo Donahue '64 and Kay Schmalzried, in memory of their parents, Jeanette '60 and Frank Schmalzried.
Benefits
Income from the endowment will support a renewable award for an incoming freshman or transfer student expressing interest in studying education and/or majoring in Teacher and Special Education in the College of Education and Human Services.
Eligibility
- The student may be from Pellston, Alanson, or the Mackinaw City, Michigan area.
- First preference will be given to students from Pellston, Michigan.
- If there are no recipients from these geographical areas that have an interest and/or are majoring in Teacher and Special Education, then students from the three geographical areas mentioned above who are majoring in other areas of study may receive the award.
- Minimum 3.0 GPA (while in high school or upon transferring).
