Description

Jane Cowell was a distinguished voice teacher and senior member of the teaching team at Central for many years, who died in 1989.  She had that sense of rigour for vocal production and love and appreciation of text that one associates with Cicely Berry, and which stems from Gwynneth Thurburn’s time as Principal and ultimately from Elsie Fogerty.  Of Central she said she had “pride in the high standard of teaching in voice, singing and dialect that we at Central have been able to offer students over the years.”
