Founded in 1968, the University of Silesia quickly established a reputation as a vibrant academic institution and an important interdisciplinary research hub. With a tradition of launching new programmes to best meet the needs of rapidly changing labor markets, the University of Silesia offers students a variety of programs and specialized fields of study.
The University of Silesia is the largest public comprehensive university in the south of Poland, educating nearly 24,000 students and doctoral students, including 900 foreigners. The University provides full-time and part-time studies in over 80 degree programmes and more than 200 majors. We teach in the following fields of study: humanities, the arts, social sciences, natural sciences, engineering and technology, as well as theology (the latter being very rare at Polish universities).

I feel that many professors and PhDs who teach courses place great emphasis on ensuring that students leave the class with a thorough understanding of the subject. They're always willing to help clarify any comprehension issues. Many of them speak with fascination about the subject matter. While I'd love to learn more about one subject, I understand that it's more of a PhD topic. The review was written by a Polish person, so it's possible that the experience for international students might be slightly different due to the change in instructors and the adaptation to English or another language.
I like my field of study, but the administrative authority of the department sometimes provides information too late. There are also too many people in class groups, which sometimes makes it harder to focus. Generally, if you like journalism I recommend my university.
The University of Lower Silesia in Wroc?aw is a university that really stands out from the rest. Tuition fees are moderate, which makes it accessible to many students. The curricula are mainly taught in Polish, but more and more courses are available in English, which attracts international students. The atmosphere is very friendly and open. There are many international students at the university, which is conducive to cultural exchange. The lecturers are professional and engaging, and their approach to students makes us feel appreciated. The university offers many opportunities for development, including internships and research projects, which prepares us for a future career. Wroc?aw, as a dynamic student city, additionally enriches academic life.
