History
UC3M was established by an Act of the Spanish Parliament on 5 May 1989, within the framework of the University Reform Act of 1983. From the outset it was intended to be a relatively small, innovative, public university, providing teaching of the highest quality and focused primarily on research. Our first Chancellor was Professor Gregorio Peces-Barba.

- Getafe Campus - Located in the town of Getafe to the south of Madrid, this campus has two schools: the School of Social Science and Law, and the School of Humanities.
- Leganes Campus - Located in the town of Leganés, to the south of Madrid, this campus houses the School of Engineering.
- Colmenarejo Campus - Located in the town of Colmenarejo, to the northeast of Madrid, the campus has three schools: the School of Social Science and Law, the School of Humanities and the School of Engineering.
- Madrid - Puerta de Toledo Campus - It accommodates the activities of the UC3M Center for Postgraduate Studies, especially those pertaining to University Master’s programs and professional training programs.

Its mobility programs are the best of Spain as far as I know. It offers the possibility to study any academic year at a foreign university from pretty much all around the world. However , its teaching methodologies still require some modernisation.

Carlos III is an excellent university in many areas. In finance particularly, it has a great program. It also gives you many opportunities to study abroad and get a broader perspective about your degree; in my case I was selected to study in Canada and Vietnam.
