The Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths set up its Technical and Recreative Institute in 1891 to provide educational opportunities for the people of New Cross.
Our courses and research activities span the arts, humanities, social sciences, cultural studies, computing, business and management across 19 academic departments.
Our research themes bring together expertise from across the humanities, arts, social sciences and computing to commit to making a real difference to society, culture and the economy. They respond to the challenges and opportunities affecting lives both locally and globally, while looking beyond to help shape a better future.
We support a wide range of collaborations between academic staff and external partners to share, expand and enrich knowledge beyond the boundaries of the academy and offer guidance on consultancy, contract research, collaborative research funding and IP management.
We're here to help you gain new skills, new experiences, and get expert advice, whether you're a current student or an alumni.
