History
When Dublin Business School was first established in 1975 it was known as Accountancy and Business College and provided evening courses for students preparing for the examinations of the professional accounting bodies. Success and a growing reputation in this field led to the school expanding its operations to offer full and part-time accounting, marketing and banking courses.

Dublin Business School (DBS) specialises in the provision of career focused business and law education as well as the delivery of contemporary programmes in the areas of arts, media, social science, humanities and psychology. Positive experience
positive experiences, good learning environment and commitment to excel. Appropriate campus facilities, surrounded by many facilities and transport. Pleasant and easy going staff always ready to help with a smile. Great colleagues and lecturers making really supportive and are very encouraging for students. Overall is a great community, in a diverse range of courses and academic options.
Adequate but low entry bar
Overall Dublin Business School is a fine institute to get your degree. The education and material that was learned was adequate, however, I felt a bit discouraged by the surrounding students. It felt like there was a low entry requirement which had an impact seeing that many assignments were group projects. That being said, I feel that the majority of lecturers were up-to-date in their field of study and the education I received was adequate.
Final year student
Most of my lecturers were great. I always felt supported and knew I could ask for help! DBS also offers lots of free library workshops on how to write the assignments, how to prepare for exams, how to do a literature review, and many more. It was extremely helpful to attend them at the start of my academic year and I still apply the tips to all of my assignments. However, the buildings look a bit sad and admin does take a long time to get back and there often is a long back and forth before a simple issue can be resolved. Fortunately, (almost) everyone is nice though.

Student services
- Registration and Orientation- settling into DBS College life

Housing services
DBS have secured a limited number of rooms for semester 1 at The Point Campus, Point Village. The Point Village, in the centre of Dublin's Tech Hub, is serviced by its own Tram Stop and is within 10 minutes tram or 25 minute walk of the College Campus. Every room is en-suite with plenty of storage room and study area. The shared kitchens are fully equipped and ready to move into. There is also a gym, cinema and loads of communal area and study spaces. Dublin City is a fantastic place to live and study, with everything literally on the doorstep of the DBS campus. However there is an insufficient supply of student accommodation to meet demand in the city centre, which may require you to expand your search.
Library services
The Library service occupies the 2nd floor of the Aungier Street building. In addition to quiet study space and extensive opening hours, the Library is fully Wi-Fi enabled with bookable PCs and group study rooms. Printing, scanning and photocopying facilities are also available.
ICT services
DBS is offering two year, part-time accredited Level 8 Higher Diploma ICT skills conversion awards in the areas of FinTech, Data Analytics, Software Development, and Web & Cloud Technologies. These two year ICT skills conversion courses are delivered part-time and designed for people who are employed.
Medical services
If you require medical assistance during your time in DBS, the Aungier St Medical Clinic offers a discount to students carrying a valid Student card. If you require any further information regarding medical needs we would be happy to point you in the right direction, please contact Student Services.
Campus life
- Our facilities are among the best, with more than €1 million invested in creating one of Ireland's biggest and best learning environments - part of our commitment to providing an excellent student experience.
- We have created outstanding learning environments for teaching, including state-of-the-art laboratories, workshops, modern lecture theatres, and a fully stocked library which will undergo a refurbishment this summer.
- Our Castle House campus on South Great George’s Street is a 35,000 square foot facility incorporating state of the art classrooms, IT labs, various student break out and social areas, teaching and administration offices and meeting areas spread over four floors.
Sports facilities
Sports Clubs at DBS are at the heart of our Student Experience. We have a dedicated Sports Clubs and Societies Officer who is responsible for the organization and development for each of our exciting Sports Clubs. Being involved in a Sports Club offers students the opportunity to train, play and compete in sport that they love, no matter what their ability or level is.

At DBS we believe happy, healthy students do better in their studies, that’s why we strive to provide a wide range of quality sporting activities to suit everybody’s tastes. Sport in DBS has enjoyed a history of great successes in a variety of sports, from soccer to basketball, cricket to sailing, students involved in DBS sports have regularly enjoyed taking home medals and trophies and this year has been no exception!
Sports in DBS depends on dedicated student participation, if there is enough interest in a sport, whether it’s a competing team or just for some fun and exercise we will provide equipment and training facilities to ensure students get the most enjoyment out of participating.

Since 1975 DBS has established itself as a leading third-level institution in Ireland. The following milestones in its development have been of immense significance in this recognition.
- Recognised as a Designated Institution under the NCEA Act in 1992
- Became an institution with accredited provision status of Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU) in 1995
