Lydia Moss Bradley brought a horology (watch-making) school to Peoria and expanded its offerings to include classics, industrial arts and home economics. Since opening as Bradley Polytechnic Institute in 1897, Bradley University has sought to reflect Mrs. Bradley’s desire to develop well-rounded, productive citizens.
Bradley offers more than 185 undergraduate and graduate academic programs in business, communications, education, engineering, fine arts, health sciences, liberal arts and sciences, and technology.
The Center for Research and Service serves as a vehicle to stimulate, initiate, and coordinate the research and service activities of the faculty in the College of Education and Health Sciences (EHS) in education, counseling, family and consumer sciences, nursing, and physical therapy. There are small discretionary research and service grants available through the Center for Research and Service.

Heitz is home to Bradley's Global Living Learning Community, which brings together students interested in exploring other cultures through international experiences, career interests and campus activities.
University, a five-story dorm, hosts Bradley's student-run Hilltop Studios and hosts entertainment throughout the year in Lydia's Lounge.

Bradley University offers wireless internet access to university students, faculty, staff, and guests in many locations on campus. Student housing (dorms) utilize wired connections.
Bradley Health Services exists to provide primary health care for Bradley students. All continuing students are eligible to use the health services on a year-round basis so long as they remain enrolled at the Institution and pay the health fee.
Whether its a snack in Michel Student Center, a concert at Renaissance Coliseum, games with friends at Late Night BU, multicultural activities or a student organization service project, Bradley University’s campus is always busy with fun activities.
The Markin Family Student Recreation Center features a swimming pool, indoor track, basketball courts, rock climbing wall, fitness classes, racquetball and more. Intramurals, club sports and fitness classes are available throughout the year.
Student Activities Office provides a variety of services to student organizations and the campus community including program planning, leadership and organizational development, contracts and negotiation, posting validation, publicity and promotion development, talent acquisition and financial management.
