On April 10, 1897, ground was broken for Bradley Hall. What had been prairie-land cornfield was transformed into a seat of learning because of the remarkable courage, strength, and determination of one woman, Mrs. Lydia Moss Bradley.
The Bradley University General Education Program is based upon the principles of “liberal education” expressed in the following fundamental assumptions:
The college provides undergraduate research and other transformational learning opportunities in and out of the classroom. Students in all of our majors have opportunities to engage collaborative scholarship and service learning activities with faculty mentors.
Bradley University works with the Smith Career Center in providing support for interviews and resume development. The placement rate for CS graduates is very high, given the current need for computer scientists in the labor market. Contact the Smith Career Center for actual figures and average salary offers of recent graduates.
The Student Activities Office provides a variety of services to student organizations and the campus community including program planning, leadership and organizational development, contracts and negotiation, posting validation, publicity and promotion development, talent acquisition and financial management.
Other functions of the Student Activities Office include maintaining a master calendar of campus events to assist the University community in scheduling programs without conflict as well as managing the Michel Student Center Information Desk, Sisson Hall Student Organization Offices, Lydia's Lounge and quad space.
Bradley University prides itself on many things. One of the most important is the sense of Bradley community that is developed on campus each and every day. Much of this begins within the residence halls, as they truly become your home away from home.Your residence hall is much more than a physical structure, it is a community where you can explore differing views, help govern your building, and find out the latest anything by simply walking out your door. It provides opportunities to relax, socialize, and interact with others in the campus community.
The library plays a central role in your education and we are here to help you learn to do research, find information, navigate the Web efficiently, and evaluate information you find. The Cullom-Davis Library offers resources in many formats and we are continually working to enhance our holdings.
Bradley University offers wireless internet access to university students, faculty, staff, and guests in many locations on campus. Student housing (dorms) utilize wired connections.
Bradley Health Services exists to provide primary health care for Bradley students. All continuing students are eligible to use the health services on a year-round basis so long as they remain enrolled at the Institution and pay the health fee.
Whether its a snack in Michel Student Center, a concert at Renaissance Coliseum, games with friends at Late Night BU, multicultural activities or a student organization service project, Bradley University’s campus is always busy with fun activities.
