Charism refers to any good gift that flows from God’s love to humans. Striving to be part of that gift, over 350 years ago, six women gathered on a daily basis to share their hearts and serve their neighbor’s needs. Rather than cloistered, or, away from the outside world, they were active agents of change. In 1650, they formally became the Sisters of St. Joseph.

A college is made up of more than classrooms. Our administrative offices manage our daily operations down to the tiniest detail, from managing financial transactions to making sure the campus-wide wifi is up and running.
Living on campus is an experience that enhances and enriches your college experience outside of the classroom. Your residence hall is more than just a place to sleep and study, but a place to build lifelong friendships with students who are different from yourself.
When you live on campus, our residence halls become your home, our dining hall is your dining room, and you’ll find dozens of new places to hang out with your friends.
Elms has no residency requirement for enrolled students, but we highly encourage students, even from the local area, to consider living on campus.
