In 1947, Wilkes College was instituted as an independent, nondenominationalBucknell Beacon headline "Another Building Given to College" four-year college, with programs in the arts, sciences, and a number of professional fields as well as a full program of extra-curricular activities.
Wilkes is the only university of our size to offer the broad mix of professional and liberal arts programs we do. You’ll have the opportunity to choose from numerous majors across six different schools. If you can’t pick just one, you can double major or combine a major and a minor. Double major in engineering and digital media. Major in accounting and minor in Spanish. With so many different programs, you’ll have a wide range of options.
In addition to bachelor degree programs, Wilkes offers master's degree programs and doctoral/terminal degree programs including the doctor of nursing practice, doctor of education, doctor of pharmacy, doctor of philosophy in nursing and master of fine arts in creative writing.
The mission of the Office of Institutional Research is to collect, analyze, maintain and report institutional information to both internal and external constituents to support planning, decision-making and compliance with external reporting requirements.

We:
The Wilkes University campus is located in the historic district of Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. We offer a variety of housing options for our residential student population, ranging from traditional halls to apartments to mansions.
All rooms are furnished with one bed (extra long mattress), dresser, desk, chair and wardrobe (or closet space) per student. In addition to the furniture, each room has basic cable and telephone service. Each student access to either a wireless or ethernet connection.
The Eugene S. Farley library features more than 170,000 volumes of books and bound journals, more than 53,000 journals and newspapers in 123 databases, over 1,800 daily newspapers from the U.S. and around the world, a collection of classic films on DVD and fine collections in English and American literature, history, the sciences and mathematics.
Information Technology provides a variety of resources to Wilkes students:
Basic health care needs are provided free-of-charge at the University. Nurses are on duty during the day and evening and the University physician holds office hours two days each week. In addition, a doctor is on call 24 hours a day for emergency situations.
Our campus is a compact 35 acres (a huge benefit when you have to make the mad dash to 8am class) and is situated in the heart of Wilkes-Barre, PA, a city of 50,000 that's only about 2.5 hours from Manhattan and Philadelphia. You can easily walk to Circles on the Square, where they arguably make the best muffins in America.
Even though Wilkes is located right in the middle of a city its historic neighborhood -- complete with mature trees and green spaces -- gives our campus a charming feel that blends past and present.
Like the academic, administrative, and residential buildings that make up the Wilkes campus, our sports facilities are filled with stories of history and commitment to purpose.
Early in your first year, you'll step out with your classmates to Club Day, where you get a chance to check out all of our student clubs and sign up for however many you like. Maybe you'll learn how to build a house with Habitat for Humanity. Or put commercial radio to shame with your own Friday night broadcast.
Wilkes University is an accredited member of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools and its graduate and professional programs are approved by the Department of Education of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. In addition to total program accreditation, certain special areas are recognized by professional organizations.
It's been fair. I just feel I am expected to do well but I don't know if I am doing the right thing.
