EHL Hospitality Business School

EHL Hospitality Business School

Founded as the world's first hotel school in 1893, EHL has a genuine, historical proximity to the tourism and hotel industry.  Our Swiss campuses are located in stunning natural settings: In the hills above Lausanne overlooking Lake Geneva, and in Passugg, the heart of the Graubünden region, in the Swiss Alps.  Our newest EHL campus is located in Singapore.

Top reasons to study here

  • EHL is regularly recognized as the best hotel management school in the world with the highest graduate employment rates in the industry.
  • It has created and inspired a unique professional community of over 25,000 hospitality managers, united by the values and the legacy of EHL.
  • Our organizational status as a foundation clearly sets us apart by signifying the reinvestment of all profits to enhance the quality of our students' education.

Jacques Tschumi was the founder and president of the Ecole hôtelière, managing director of the Lausanne Beau Rivage Palace and an influential member of the Society of Swiss Hoteliers; he championed the creation of the school to train professional hotel staff.

In today’s global hospitality industry, managers need to have hospitality know-how and a broader set of strategic business skills to reach upper-level positions. To satisfy these requirements for companies and future hospitality professionals, we offer a wide array of hospitality management degrees for people with varying backgrounds and career aspirations.

All degrees are delivered by EHL, which is recognized as a Swiss University of Applied Science and which has an American (NECHE) accreditation. Plus, our degrees comply with the Bologna requirements using the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS).

For applied research projects, faculty members conduct hospitality research in a variety of managerial disciplines and are regularly recognized with research awards. Working independently or together with academic colleagues or industry professionals, they tackle issues that benefit the industry while simultaneously contributing to excellence in hospitality education.

The hospitality and tourism industry includes many sub-sectors that are open to hospitality management graduates. The following list shows the closely related hospitality and tourism industry sectors.

  • Accommodation: hotels, resorts, vacation rentals, camping, etc.

EHL is not just a normal hospitality school.

It's a renewing experience, it's quite a different experience from what you would expect in a university as you have and will do so many different types of extra curriculum activities and it's all very real life and very serious. I would say it was way harder than what I expected it to be as you have very very heavy business studies combined with Hospitality specific...

I'm ready for everything that might come

I had a great first semester at EHL, sadly we had the Covid situation but the university managed it really good for such a new situation. Sadly we missed out on a lot of extra schokar activities. The teachers seemed really engaged in their job and did everything to teach us well (some more than others). We had every help we needed

Fight for your dreams , I always repeat this to myself! Self-development can probably be achieved by lots of individuals but an ability to develop other people as well does not everyone have. I consider myself among these skills owners.
