In 1987 Curtin University of Technology became Western Australia’s third university and Australia’s first university of technology. Curtin made the transition from the Western Australian Institute of Technology to a university with the passing of an Act of Parliament in December 1986, accepting its first students as a university in 1987.
Curtin has successfully built an international reputation for research excellence, with 95 per cent of research ranked at world standard or above.

Curtin has guest Wi-Fi accounts for visitors who are not able to connect to the eduroam network. These guest accounts allow a visitor to connect to the CurtinGuest wireless network and access the Internet. There is no email facility attached to the account, but you may access a third party web-based email provider.
The largest campus, Curtin Perth, is located in the suburb of Bentley, about six kilometres south-east of central Perth. In close proximity to everything Perth has to offer, it boasts 116 hectares of bold architecture nestled amongst beautifully landscaped gardens. Thousands of students fill the campus grounds every day of semester, creating a vibrant, multicultural atmosphere. Over the past decade, the campus has undergone some major changes, with a variety of stunning modern buildings now interspersed with the original 1960s architecture. The majority of Curtin courses are delivered on this campus.

I think university is what you make out of it, but Curtin is a really great university to go to if you enjoy expanding your experiences beyond just study ie getting involved in extra curriculars.
