About

History

In 1987 Curtin University of Technology became Western Australia’s third university and Australia’s first university of technology. Curtin made the transition from the Western Australian Institute of Technology to a university with the passing of an Act of Parliament in December 1986, accepting its first students as a university in 1987.

Education

Curtin University is Western Australia’s largest university. It also has campuses in Perth, Kalgoorlie, Malaysia, Singapore, Dubai and Mauritius, and a network of more than 130 international partners. Its mission is to transform lives and communities through education and research.The five core values of Curtin University are:

Services

Student services

International applicants must satisfy the enrolment requirements and pay the fees as indicated in the Letter of Offer received from the International Office. For international students who will be undertaking their studies in Australia, upon confirmation of all fees paid the University will send a Confirmation of Enrolment. This document must be presented to the consulate in your home country in order to obtain a visa for entry into Australia.

Housing services

When you live on campus you can enjoy living, socialising and studying in one convenient location, along with other students from all over the world. Our rooms are fully furnished and there are plenty of recreation facilities and support services, plus you’re in easy walking distance of your classes, the library, the shopping centre, gym and public transport.

Student Life

Campus life

The largest campus, Curtin Perth, is located in the suburb of Bentley, about six kilometres south-east of central Perth. In close proximity to everything Per­­th has to offer, it boasts 116 hectares of bold architecture nestled amongst beautifully landscaped gardens. Thousands of students fill the campus grounds every day of semester, creating a vibrant, multicultural atmosphere. Over the past decade, the campus has undergone some major changes, with a variety of stunning modern buildings now interspersed with the original 1960s architecture. The majority of Curtin courses are delivered on this campus.

Whether you want to join the gym, get a team together to play sport, try a new active experience or need health or rehabilitation support, Curtin Stadium has you covered for everything sport, fitness and recreation.

Curtin University offer a very useful program for the students, the working environment was pleasant thus making me want to give my best. I am still a student and the courses that are offered are very useful. the teaching methods helped me learn a lot about the marketing world and management people.

Curtin focuses extremely heavily on the research side of Psychology. Whilst important, the course was lacking in units that taught practical skills that students could utilize and apply if they chose not to pursue a Masters or PhD. As a result, I have struggled finding work in counselling, social work or case worker type roles - roles that I was told would welcome...
