History
Wittenborg was founded in 1987 as a small, private institute in Deventer. In 2002, it started developing English-taught business programmes, and in 2008 management was taken over by Peter Birdsall and Maggie Feng. In 2010, Wittenborg moved to Apeldoorn where it has two locations. A third location opened in 2015, in Amsterdam. Today, with around 1500 students from 100 different nationalities, Wittenborg is the most international business school in the Netherlands.
Education
At Wittenborg, classes are international and teaching contact hours are high. Courses are offered in compact, business-like modules. Education is transparent and can be tailored to a student’s needs. Wittenborg is an entrepreneurial organisation that innovates and encourages its students to achieve.

Research
Wittenborg's Research Centre operates as a knowledge hub. The Wittenborg Knowledge Hub is a dynamic environment where international lecturers, researchers and students bring in their knowledge, experience, skills and cultural background, and gain new knowledge, skills and understanding. An environment where organisations can drop in for available knowledge or plunge in to develop new knowledge together with the researchers of Wittenborg.

Student services
Wittenborg's team of supervisors, including process tutors and study advisors, assist students in understanding their curriculum, obligations and rights as a student. This team is responsible for keeping track of students' study progress and carry out appraisal discussions that result in updated study agreements. Process tutors and study advisors co-ordinate closely with student administration staff and the registrar, regarding progress.Wittenborg has an open door policy through which students find all staff easily accessible during office hours, whether in person or through Wittenborg Online and Office365. In addition, Wittenborg is small enough to allow students to have easy and direct contact with management, if they wish.
Housing services
Finding a place to live in a new country might sound a little daunting at times. However, the pleasant, green, clean and safe city of Apeldoorn in the centre of the Netherlands, and home to Wittenborg’s main campus, has plenty of rooms to offer.Wittenborg assists students in finding suitable, local housing. ICT services
In any modern learning environment, online information plays an important role. At Wittenborg,students can access course information, modules, web mail, their account informationand many other utilities, through the intranet.Additionally, Wittenborg provides various forms of ICT support to students to enhance their learning experience, such as Wi-Fi, student portals, e-learning systems, e-library resources, online collaboration tools, etc.
Medical services
At Wittenborg, every student has access to a student counselor/coach and a confidential advisor who offer support for mental health concerns, stress management, and personal challenges. Both professionals are dedicated to aiding students with matters not directly related to their academic programme and advancement. They serve as confidential partners, providing one-on-one assistance.
Campus life
Wittenborg's main campus, comprised of two buildings, is situated in the city centre of Apeldoorn, the 11th largest town in the Netherlands and a remarkably green, clean and safe city to study in! Wittenborg students enjoy 'the gentle lifestyle', whilst only being an hour away on the train or by car from the Dutch capital city Amsterdam (and Schiphol), or the German border to the east.
Wittenborg's Amsterdam location is situated in the heart of the city, close to companies, businesses, tourism and cultural heritage. An exciting dimension to the Wittenborg experience, students studying there often live in the city and combine their studies with business start-ups for which Amsterdam is famous.

The city of Apeldoorn has many facilities for those wanting to participate in organised sports:

Student clubs
Wittenborg students are active in their own sports group, which organises outside activities such as soccer and basketball in the nearby parks. They make arrangements through a private facebook page for students and staff, which is given to students during their introduction day on starting at Wittenborg.
Wittenborg is appointed by the Dutch government and meets all required regulations. All degrees and programmes are internationally recognised and accredited in Europe. Programmes have been developed in consultation with, and have the support of business and industry.
- The Master of Business Management leading to an MSc award is accredited by the Netherlands Accreditation Organisation (NVAO).
- The Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) Programme is accredited by the Netherlands Accreditation Organisation (NVAO) and the Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation (FIBAA - a German, Austrian, Swiss accrediting body).
- The Master of Business Administration (MBA) programme is accredited by NVAO and FIBAA.
