Graduates of the Nursing program of the University of Washington Bothell become nurse leaders, school of nursing faculty, clinical education specialists, managers, administrators, directors, change agents, and care providers promoting and implementing programs improving patient outcomes and creating healthy communities in diverse settings.

Students have the option to specialize in nurse education, administrative leadership, or may opt for a general specialization.

The MN program difference

Three different curriculum options: Nurse Education, Nurse Leadership and a general track.

The curriculum is taught by graduate faculty actively engaged in research, nursing practice, and the health of the community at large.

Cohort sizes are small to ensure a hands-on, personable and high quality learning experience.

The program is designed to be work-compatible by combining online and in-person learning.

Offers a predictable hybrid schedule with courses meeting only twice per month, every-other Friday.

General requirements

An in-process or earned bachelor’s degree in nursing from a nursing program that is accredited by a national accrediting body, recognized by the US Department of Education (e.g., CCNE, NLN, ACEN). Applicants not holding a BSN are eligible to apply.
A minimum cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.0, or a 3.0 GPA for the last 60 semester/90 quarter graded college/university credits. The degree must be completed prior to beginning the program of study.
Proficiency in English. Every applicant whose native language is not English must demonstrate English proficiency. Learn more about the Graduate School English Language Proficiency Requirements .
Completion of a 3-credit quarter-based or 2-credit semester-based basic statistics course in descriptive and inferential statistics with a grade of at least 2.0 grade (no expiration date).
Active and unencumbered RN license valid in the State of Washington.
