The Art and Visual Culture Education program from The University of Arizona is intended to meet the needs of students who wish professional understanding within the field of Art Education. You may pursue an MA or, if interested in certification to teach in public schools and not currently certified, the MA plus certification.

The Art and Visual Culture Education program is offered by the School of Art. The School of Art’s goal is not merely to educate, but to transform. We refine our students’ natural passions into focused pursuit, enabling them to develop professional skills and create meaningful work. We excel in creative and scholarly research while striving to expand and diversify our curricular and program offerings.

In addition to maintaining an array of high quality academic programs, the School of Art works to engage the broader community on and off campus through a range of programs, including:

A variety of general education and First Year Experience (FYE) courses open to ALL majors
Robust co-curricular programming through our galleries and Visiting Artists and Scholars Endowment Lecture Series
A series of annual events and other outreach endeavors coordinated by the School of Art

If you have a studio background, submit a PDF with 10-20 images, one image per page and provide the title, medium, dimensions and date under each image.

Transcripts from all previous colleges and universities attended. For initial evaluation purposes, you may attach scans of official or unofficial transcripts.

The names and contact information for 3 referees who will be submitting Letters of Recommendation on your behalf.
