The intent of the Master’s of Science in Applied Mathematics is to provide students with training in mathematics appropriate for many professional positions in industry. 

Overview

In particular, this program is aimed at developing practical computational and analytical mathematical skills required to tackle realistic problems. Students entering this program are required to have some background in applied mathematics equivalent to at least a minor in mathematics. Several professional certificate programs are offered under this program for students who want to specialize in a particular area of interest.

    The GRE® General Test is a widely administered admissions test that measures the skills needed in today's graduate and business school programs worldwide. The GRE® General Test contains three sections - Verbal Reasoning, Quantitative Reasoning, and Analytical Writing. Three scores are reported: a Verbal Reasoning score on a 130 - 170 score scale in one-point increments, a Quantitative Reasoning score on a 130 - 170 score scale in one-point increments, and an Analytical Writing score on a 0 - 6 score scale in half-point increments.

  • A cumulative GPA of 3.00 or better in the last 60 hours
  • Letters of recommendation from three (3) individuals (preferably faculty members)
