The Design program at the University of California, Davis, emphasizes creative ability, interdisciplinary and multicultural projects, and socially responsible design. Collaborations with other departments are highly encouraged. Areas of faculty expertise include exhibition design; interior architecture, including lighting and furniture design; textile and fashion design; and visual communication, including graphic and multimedia design. Students gain advanced knowledge of visual communication, exhibitions, interior architecture, and textile and fashion design. The program culminates in the presentation of an individual thesis project.
