The Electrical Engineering Graduate program at Iowa State University should produce graduates who fulfill the following:
- Demonstrate mastery of knowledge and scholarly literature in their fields of study.
- Understand ethical principles and conduct responsible research
- Effectively communicate and disseminate their technical contributions.
- Students pursuing theses/dissertations shall also demonstrate ability to conduct state-of-the-art research and expand the knowledge base in their fields of study

Programme Structure
Curriculum:- Eighteen (18) credits must be course work from within ECpE.
- Up to eight (8) transfer credits are allowed on the POS. Transfer credits must have a grade of B or better. Research credits cannot be transferred.
- Special or selected topics courses such as E E 520, E E 590, Cpr E 590, Cpr E 594, may be counted as regular coursework credits, as long as the course is taught as a regular course.

General requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical and computer engineering or closely related area
- The bachelor’s degree must be a four-year program of study.
- GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) or higher
- We welcome students to provide WES or ECE academic records. If you choose WES / ECE, you must provide a course-by-course evaluation. Using these external evaluations is optional. For students who do not provide WES / ECE transcripts, then ISU Admissions staff will evaluate the academic documents.
- The GRE is optional. Providing a GRE score may provide more information about your capacity for success; however, not providing a score will not be a detriment.
- Statement of Purpose
- 3 letters of recommendation
- Non-native English speakers must meet the English Proficiency Requirement with either an appropriate degree or with a qualifying exam score.
