God transforms the lives and hearts of His people through His Word, and we want to prepare you to competently and effectively apply it. Cedarville's Biblical Counseling program will equip you to minister God's Word into life's most difficult moments, whether that's counseling in a ministry context or creating a culture of care within your church community.

This 36-credit hour program — including 15 hours of core Bible and theology courses and 21 hours dedicated to your biblical counseling training — is offered in a convenient, fully online format and can be completed in as little as one calendar year. You can choose to take classes part-time to fit your personal schedule. A limited number of in-class delivery courses may also be available. The program is highly flexible and affordable.

Opportunities

You can use your master's in biblical counseling to provide biblical counsel to individuals, couples, and families in a church, ministry, or missions setting. You'll be taught to see the applicability of biblical counseling’s philosophy to the whole church. Not only will you be equipped for the ministry counseling room, but you'll also be prepared to rightly apply God's Word throughout your local church ministries, helping mobilize your church community to create a culture of care.

This program provides rigorous training in biblically grounded counseling, equipping graduates for ministry roles that apply Scripture to life’s challenges. While not designed to meet state licensure requirements, it serves as a solid foundation for those pursuing biblical counseling certification.

Evidence of a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
Official transcripts confirming a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited or otherwise approved institution with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.3 on a 4.0 scale. Conditional acceptance may be offered in certain circumstances.
One professional or academic reference (faculty member or supervisor) and one pastoral reference. Family members and personal friends are not eligible to serve as references.
