Overview
Key facts
- This course offers you a clear pathway into advanced research in grape and wine science. It is designed for those who already have a strong foundation in viticulture, oenology, or a closely related discipline, or for professionals with significant experience in the sector. You’ll focus on developing the skills and confidence to conduct independent, original research while gaining insight into the principles and practice of scientific investigation.
- The course blends structured learning with hands-on research. The 60-credit research preparation module will build your skills in research design, data analysis, and scientific communication. The remainder of your time is devoted to a substantial research project, developed in collaboration with supervisors and industry partners. Your work will lead to outputs such as a publication-ready paper, a grant proposal, or a conference presentation, giving you a strong foundation for PhD study or senior roles in the wine sector. The Viticulture and Oenology (QA only) programme is offered at University of Greenwich.
