Overview
Our three year Education Specialist (Ed.S.) in School Psychology Program is approved by the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP), and every graduate will be eligible to be a Nationally Certified School Psychologist (NCSP).
The School Psychology program at Gonzaga University promotes an eco-behavioral, outcomes-driven orientation. Specifically, we aim to promote student social, emotional, and academic well-being through the implementation of multi-tiered systems of support, interventions, consultation, and data-oriented problem solving. Additionally, our scientist-practitioner model of education prepares graduate students to utilize best practices in behavioral and academic consultation, intervention, and assessment within NASP Practice Model Domains.
Careers
After completion of our Education Specialist (Ed.S.) in School Psychology program, you will be able to work as a credentialed school psychologists in K-12 settings. Students from our program have worked as school psychologists in elementary, middle, and high school settings. Many school districts hire school psychologists to work for 1-3 or more schools, and private or charter schools may hire one school psychologist for their buildings.
Alongside work as a school psychologist, graduates of the program will have expertise in mental health services, behavior consultation, and multi-tiered systems of support, allowing for opportunities to work in a variety of treatment settings (Early Childhood, Residential, or Juvenile Justice programs), or school district/building systems positions.
Alumni of the program make impactful differences in our local, regional, state, and national education systems.
