In the MS in Artificial Intelligence for Business program at University at Albany, you’ll learn how to integrate AI into business processes in finance, marketing, management, accounting, business analytics and information security. You’ll explore the ethics of AI and the societal threats that it poses, and graduate prepared to make informed business decisions.

This flexible program allows you to pursue your degree full- or part-time, in person or online. In as little as nine months you can become a business and technology leader who adds value by applying AI tools and techniques to advance your company—and your career.

Program of Study

The MS in AI for Business is a 30-credit program focused on artificial intelligence and its applications to business. It’s a one-year program for full-time students, and part-time students can stretch the program across two or more years to suit their schedules. You have the option to complete all the core program courses online, as well as some of the concentrations.

The program’s core curriculum includes fundamentals courses that teach core concepts and tools in AI, business courses that explore how AI can be integrated into business processes across various domains, and a course on security and ethics of AI. An elective course allows you to focus on any specific business domain or study more complex concepts in AI.

Your concentration courses will help you understand AI applications in your area of interest. The program culminates with an experiential capstone, to be completed as an internship, research project or semester long classroom-based project. This project will help you apply all your business and fundamentals skills toward a business problem.
