Overview

The BSN to DNP - Nurse Anesthesia program at The University of Texas at San Antonio is a 3-year, full-time program that spans 108 credit hours and is designed to integrate nursing science, ethics, and biophysical, psychosocial, and analytical knowledge. General requirements

BSN degree from a CCNE, ACEN, or NLNAC accredited program.
Current licensure as an RN in Texas or hold a compact license with multi-state privileges that includes Texas.
GPA from Last 60 Hours of College Coursework: 3.0.
Graduate Record Examination (GRE) taken within 5 years of preceding application.
Three professional references.
For international students, TOEFL minimum requirements: Paper examination: 550 or International English Language Testing System (IELTS) score minimum: 6.5, taken within the last 2 years.
A completed basic statistics course with a grade of 'B' or higher taken within the last 5 years.
A completed Organic Chemistry or Biochemistry course with a grade of 'B' or higher taken within the last 5 years.

Work experience

A minimum of one year of work experience in critical care as a registered nurse is required, with two years preferred (experience in the Emergency Room/Urgent Care is not considered critical care).
