Learning Outcomes

The students will demonstrate the ability to:

Master the science and art of analytical decisionmaking, negotiation, and critical thinking for success in the world of hospitality real estate.

Focus on the study of innovation and disruption and teach students to create new and innovative business models that are required within hospitality in today’s fast-changing world.

Understand how the pressures of a fast-paced hospitality industry and fast-evolving social, environmental, and economic conditions around the world are adding layers of complexity and risk to the hospitality real estate sector.

Comprehend the impacts of climate change, demands for equitable development, changing work/home arrangements, online consumerism, and global flows of capital on the larger travel and tourism sector.

Learn how to apply environmental, social, and governance (ESG) criteria as new metrics to measure performance of their hospitality investments, and how to work with regulatory agencies as they increasingly require that developers and owners demonstrate that their projects account for and help mitigate environmental factors. (ESG is included within the teachings of this program and will allow our students to be on the cutting edge of what has developed as an important conversation in the hospitality space.)
