Overview
Teacher Residency from Clemson University is a 30-credit program that can be completed in three semesters. It consists of a mix of face-to-face, hybrid, and online courses along with a rich, immersive, year-long field experience component
Quick Facts:
- Current undergraduate students who are studying early childhood education are the target participants for the Teacher Residency Program.
- The curriculum plan is based on the combined bachelors to masters program philosophy in that qualified students take 12 hours of graduate coursework their senior year in place of a traditional student teaching experience. Students are expected to graduate from their undergraduate program as planned (May or August, senior year).
- During their fifth year, students complete the remaining hours toward their MAT degree. Students are recommended for initial teaching certification after successfully completing their graduate teacher residency field experience and the graduate degree requirements.
