The Department of Population Health Sciences of the University of Wisconsin Madison strives to provide leadership in the emerging, integrative field of population health. Its mission is to create, integrate, disseminate, and apply knowledge promoting the most efficient, equitable, and effective possible use of resources to maintain and improve the health of populations.

General requirements

For applicants to programs held in-person, admission may be granted with the following scores under certain circumstances and with program approval. However, to be admitted, an English assessment test (ESLAT) will be required upon arrival, and any recommended English as a Second Language (ESL) course must be completed successfully in the first semester. Below are the ranges in which an ESLAT will be required:
