Global Sustainability is offered by University of South Florida. The Patel College of Global Sustainability seeks to ensure that the concepts, principles, definitions, models, and applications of “sustainability” are progressively expanded at the University of South Florida (USF) and beyond.

We encourage the natural interconnections among those units on campus addressing ecology, economics, policy, politics and culture; we recognize the essential contributions of scholars and professionals in engineering, business, architecture, urban planning, geosciences, health, global studies and the natural and social sciences; and, we aspire to create and maintain the conditions under which humans and nature can exist in productive harmony, fulfilling the social, economic and environmental requirements of present and future generations. The Master of Science (M.S.) in Global Sustainability offers five (5) academic concentrations, available in a traditional on-campus format, blended hybrid formats or fully online: Entrepreneurship, Food Sustainability and Security, Sustainable Energy, Sustainable Transportation, and Water Sustainability. This interdisciplinary program is designed around a curriculum of sustainability sciences and will prepare students to address complex local, regional, national, and global challenges related to water management, renewable energy, food resources, sustainable transportation planning and green entrepreneurship with the ability to innovate in security, sustainability and resilience contexts. The Patel College of Global Sustainability strives to offer a dynamic graduate curriculum, cutting-edge research projects, top-notch internship experiences, and an overall academically superior education for our students.

General requirements

The equivalent bachelor’s and/or graduate degrees from a foreign institution. Bachelor’s degrees from institutions in the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) are considered equivalent based on the Bologna Accord.
Minimum grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.00 (on a 4.00 scale)
Applicants from countries where English is not the official language, and who have not earned at least a bachelor’s degree in the U.S., must also demonstrate proficiency in the English language.
One (1) complete official transcript from institutions of higher learning attended by the applicant where a bachelor’s and higher degree was awarded is required of all students who are admitted and matriculate at USF.
All applicants to programs requiring the GRE* should submit GRE test scores earned within five (5) years of the desired term of entry.
